Time and work Problems can be solved in Two ways

• Percentage Method
• LCM Method 

LCM method is easier to use so will practice by LCM method

Model-1

1.A alone can finish work in 12 days and B alone can finish the same work in 24 days. then in how many days can A and B together will finish same Work?

Ans)

             A=12 days                                                       A+B=?

             B=24 days

   

            Now take the LCM of A and B because we need find out A+B 

            So LCM of A and B is =24 it means Total work is 24 Units

             Now we can find one days work for A and B Seperately

•             A=(Total number of units/No of Days)

                        =(24/12)

                        =2 units/day

•            B=(Total number of units/No of Days)

                       =(12/12)

                       = 1 Unit/day

      

                So that A+B's One day's Work= 2+1

                                                             =3 units / Day

•           A and B together will finish same Work=(Total no.of Units/(No.of units/day))

                                                                                  =24/3

                                                                                  =  8 Days required to complete same job                                                 

2.A and B can do a piece of Work in 12 days. While B alone can finish it in 30 days then A alone finish the work in?

Ans)

             A+B=12 days                                                       A=?

             B=30 days

   

            Now take the LCM of (A+B) and B because we need find out A 

            So LCM of A and B is =24 it means Total work is 60 Units

             Now we can find one days work for (A+B) and B Seperately

•             A+B=(Total number of units/No of Days)

                              =(60/12)

                              =5 units/day

•            B=(Total number of units/No of Days)

                       =(60/30)

                       = 2 Unit/day

      

                So that B's One day's Work= ((A+B)'s work-A's Work)  = (5-3)

                                                             =3 units / Day

•          B alone can finish same Work=(Total no.of Units/(No.of units/day))

                                                                                  =60/3

                                                                                  =  20 Days required to complete same job

The Indus Valley Civilization

The History of India begins with the birth of the Indus Valley Civilization, more precisely known as Harappan Civilization. It flourished around 2,500 BC, in the western part of South Asia, what today is Pakistan and Western India. The Indus Valley was home to the largest of the four ancient urban civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia, India and China. Nothing was known about this civilization till 1920s when the Archaeological Department of India carried out excavations in the Indus valley wherein the ruins of the two old cities, viz. Mohenjodaro and Harappa were unearthed. The ruins of buildings and other things like household articles, weapons of war, gold and silver ornaments, seals, toys, pottery wares, etc., show that some four to five thousand years ago a highly developed Civilization flourished in this region.

The Indus valley civilization was basically an urban civilization and the people lived in well-planned and well-built towns, which were also the centers for trade. The ruins of Mohenjodaro and Harappa show that these were magnificent merchant cities-well planned, scientifically laid, and well looked after. They had wide roads and a well-developed drainage system. The houses were made of baked bricks and had two or more storeys.

The highly civilized Harappans knew the art of growing cereals, and wheat and barley constituted their staple food. They consumed vegetables and fruits and ate mutton, pork and eggs as well. Evidences also show that they wore cotton as well as woollen garments. By 1500 BC, the Harappan culture came to an end. Among various causes ascribed to the decay of Indus Valley Civilization are the recurrent floods and other natural causes like earthquake, etc.

Vedic Civilization

The Vedic civilization is the earliest civilization in the history of ancient India. It is named after the Vedas, the early literature of the Hindu people. The Vedic Civilization flourished along the river Saraswati, in a region that now consists of the modern Indian states of Haryana and Punjab. Vedic is synonymous with Hinduism, which is another name for religious and spiritual thought that has evolved from the Vedas.

The Ramayana and Mahabharata were the two great epics of this period.

Identify the Reasons for Fear of Interviews:

The fears need to be overcome early so that these measures do not become a habit for anyone. For this, it is essential that you have to understand what exactly causes the fear of job interviews

1. Lack of preparation:

If you go for an interview without being completely prepared, you are little bit disturbance to have fears. It is the fear of being asked questions for which you are not prepared. This uncertainty usually nags the minds of individuals and prevents them from concentrating on what they know. It also develops measures and body language that have a negative impact on the minds of the interviewers.

2. Fear of not getting the job:

Many job seekers look for a good and well paying job because they have to support their family. The burden of that responsibility makes them need the job desperately. They always thought that what will happen if they don’t get the job. The constant worry at the back of the mind causes fear and this affects to they didn't perform well. He may have drooping shoulders and lack of eye contact with individuals if he/she is not confident. Lack of confidence may affect an individual’s career in a very big manner.

5. History of the previous jobs:

Very few people are blessed with stable careers in the present generation. Individuals frequently changing their jobs and you never get to see people stay in the same job for 20-30 years. In such a situation, individuals who lose their jobs due to lack of performance  and also lose their confidence in themselves. The insecurities of a volatile job life makes him scared and nervous. First of all we need to know the basics of Divisibility rules before the preparation of Shortcuts.

Divisiblity rules has been devided in to Four categeries as per their similarity

• 3,9

Divisibility rules by First category 

Divisibility rule by 2:-

                    2*1=2, so that we consider last digit

               If the last digit of the number is divisible by 2 then the Whole number will be divisible by 2

      Example:-1)24286476/2

                Ans) (6/2)=3  so that 24286476 is Divisible by 2

Divisibility rules by Third category(5,10):-

Divisibility rule by 5:-

                                If the last digit of the number contains 0 or 5 then only the number divisible by 5

             Example: 54625860/5

                                In above question, the last digit of the number is 0 So that the number(54625860) is divisible by 5.

Divisibility rule by 10:-

                                If the last digit of the number contains 0 then only the number divisible by 10

             Example: 14526380/5

                                In above question, the last digit of the number is 0 So that the number(14526380) is divisible by 10.

Divisibility rules by Fouth category(11):-

                               In this we need to first start counting from the right side after that we do the subtraction of Sum of numbers in Odd places-Sum of numbers in Even place then we get some result. If the result divisible by 11 then the whole number will be divisible by 11

             Example:  142318/11

     Result= (Sum of numbers in Odd places-Sum of numbers in Even place)/11

                   (8+3+4)-(1+2+1)

                 =11/11

                 =1

         In the above Question 142318 is divisible by 11 then the whole number is divisible by 11.

1. If two Singular Nouns refer to the same person or thing, the Verb should be in Singular.

For example,

Incorrect- The Chief-minister and Home-minister are coming.
Correct- The Chief-minister and Home-minister is coming.

(Here the same person is Chief-minister as well as Home-minister)

2. Two or more Singular Subjects joined by and then Verb should be in Plural.
For example,
Incorrect- Ram and Shyam is here. 
Correct- Ram and Shyam are here.
3. If the Singular Subjects are preceded by a word as each or every, the Verb should be in Singular.
For example,
Incorrect- Every men and woman were ready.
Correct- Every men and woman was ready.

4. When the two Subjects joined by 'or/nor are of different numbers, the Verb should be Plural, and the Plural Subject must be placed next to the Verb.
For example,
incorrect- Neither the lecturers nor the principal was present.
Correct- Neither the principal nor the lecturers were present. '

5. Two or more Singular Subjects joined by or, nor, either..... Or, neither.... nor take a Verb in the Singular form.
For example,
Incorrect- Neither he nor I were there.
Correct- Neither he nor I was there.

6. When the two Subjects joined by or, nor are of different persons, the Verb agrees in person with the one nearest to it.
For example,
Incorrect- Either he or I is mistaken.
Correct- Either he or I, am mistaken.
7. When the Subject of the Verb is a Relative Pronoun care should be taken to see that the Verb should agrees in Number and Person with the Antecedent of the relative.
For example,
Incorrect- I, who is your friend, will guard your interests.
Correct- I, who am your friend, will guard your interests.

8. A Collective Noun should take a Singular Verb when the collection is thought of as a whole, takes a Plural Verb when the individuals of which it is composed are thought of.
For example,
Correct- The Council has chosen the President.
Correct- The military were called out.

9. Words joined to a Singular Subject by with, together with, in addition to, or, as well as, etc. are parenthetical, and therefore do not affect the number of the Verb.
For example,
Incorrect- The Chief, with all his men, were massacred .

• Correct-The chief, with all his men, was massacred.

10. Some Nouns which are singular in form but plural in meaning, should take Plural Verb.
For example,
Incorrect- Mathematics are a branch of study in every school.
Correct- Mathematics is a branch of study in every school.

Don’t blow it by…

 1. Turning up late

Go earlier for interview.

Work out exactly where you’re going and how you’re going to get there. If you can, do a practice run. On the day, allow yourself 30 minutes extra for traffic problems or delays. If for some reason you're running late, call your interviewer to let them know.

2. Inappropriate clothing

We should go in formal dresses.

What’s appropriate varies depending on the job you’re going for, so try asking someone who works in the same industry. If you’re still not sure, go for something more formal – a suit or dark trousers/skirt with a smart shirt or top.

3. Being unprepared

Prepare the topics that are related to job interview.

You need to know your CV inside out. If it’s a competency-based interview, make sure you've prepared relevant examples. Research the employer, go over the job description and take notes on how your skills and strengths match up.

4. Lying

Anything from big lies about what jobs you’ve done, to little tweaks about your skills or knowledge can trip you up. It’s very easy for your interviewer to catch you out with a few follow-up questions.

5. Criticising a current or previous employer

It’s fine to talk about what you would like to achieve and why this may not be possible in your current job, but never bad-mouth a current or previous employer. It could give your interviewer the impression you’re difficult to work with.

6. Criticising the company that’s interviewing you

Interviewers often ask candidates if they have any ideas on how the business could be improved. You should have one or two examples, but make sure you answer in a polite way. Your interviewer may be the person responsible for that marketing campaign, lunch menu or window display that you’re commenting on.

7. Giving textbook responses

It’s important to show your personality in an interview. Try to be open and honest about your skills and strengths, giving examples of when you've used them. That’s stronger than trotting out clichéd statements such as ‘I’m a real people person’.

8. Appearing arrogant or rude

It's great to show that you're confident in an interview, but don’t let that tip over into arrogance. Listen carefully to your interviewer, don’t interrupt and don’t attempt too many jokes. You don’t want to say anything that could cause offence.

9. Not asking any questions

Asking a few questions towards the end of the interview shows you’re confident, thoughtful and interested in the position. Some good fall-back options are asking what kind of training opportunities the employer offers, what the workplace culture is like or what career opportunities are available.

10. Letting your nerves get the better of you

This is probably the most difficult mistake to avoid. Interviews make everyone a bit anxious, but there are techniques you can use to keep those nerves in check.

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated,
to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SON: “Daddy, may I ask you a question?”
DAD: “Yeah sure, what is it?” replied the man.
SON: “Daddy, how much do you make an hour?”
DAD: “That’s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?” the man said angrily.
SON: “I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?”
DAD: “If you must know, I make $20 an hour.”
“Oh,” the little boy replied, with his head down. Looking up, he said,
“Daddy, may I please borrow $10?”

The father was furious, “If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy
a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed.
Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior.”
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even
angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was
something he really needed to buy with that $10 and he really didn’t ask for money very often.
The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door.
“Are you asleep, son?” He asked. “No daddy, I’m awake,” replied the boy.
“I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,” said the man. “It’s been a long day and
I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the $10 you asked for.”
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. “Oh, thank you daddy!” He yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
“Why do you want more money if you already have some?” the father grumbled.
“Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,” the little boy replied.
“Daddy, I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow.
I would like to have dinner with you.”
